Club Spins
Syls CC has a range of weekly cycles to suit all levels of interest and ability.
During the Spring to Autumn months (March to October) the club organises spins:

Mid-week Wednesday morning

Mid-week evening training (hills and circuits)

Saturday Casino and Castle (see below)

Sunday Coastal, Estuary and Diamond (see below)
The weekly schedule is posted on the Club Strava. Start times vary throughout the season.
During the Winter months (November to February) the club continues to organise weekend spins, mid week morning spins and also runs midweek indoor events (e.g. Pilates, Bike Maintenance etc.).
All club spins depart from the Green in Malahide village and typically take in a mixture of coastal and inland routes around North County Dublin, Meath and Louth with a mixture of flat and rolling terrain - you’d be surprised how many hills there are in North Dublin!

Casino Group
Casino (Social) (<18KPH) with limited climbing: This group is for people who fully embrace the social side of cycling, seeing what north county Dublin has to offer at a gentle pace. Needless to say, coffee forms an integral part of these spins. The group spins are in the 25-35km range.
Castle Group
Castle (18-20KPH) with approx. 300m climbing: This group is for people who are either new to cycling, are rediscovering their love of the bike or those who have been cycling for years and who want to enjoy the social aspect of cycling - coffee stops are compulsory! The group spins are in the 40 - 50km range.
Coastal Group
Coastal-Speed (20 to 23KPH) with 400M of climbing: This group is for people who have gained road riding experience and would like to challenge themselves with longer spins and at a quicker pace. The group spins are typically in the 50 - 65km range. Coffee stops are encouraged.
Estuary Group
Estuary-Speed (23 to 26KPH) with 500M of climbing: This group is for more experienced cyclists who are looking for a challenge while experiencing the club’s social aspect. Coffee is optional, but somehow always seems to sneak into the spins! The distances are in the range of 70-85km.
Diamond Group
Diamond-Speed of (26+KPH) with 600M of climbing: This group is for very experienced cyclists, those used to pace line riding and those capable of maintaining higher speeds over varying terrain for longer distances. Stopping for coffee is not guaranteed! The distances are in the range of 75 - 100+Km and this group is self-managed.
